[More]g artist and as a member of various ensembles. She has performed at the Royal Festival Hall, British Museum, Brazilian Music Festival at Bolivar Hall amongst many other venues.
Brazilian music and jazz are important influences in Lucia’s musical landscape. She grew up listening and performing Brazilian Bossa Nova and Choro and while studying the traditional flute repertoire became increasingly draw to modern/ contemporary jazz and improvisation techniques.
The album Sundial reflects Lucia's eclectic influences. Performing in small ensembles in the Brazilian and jazz London scene; the idea of the album started to take shape during some of these performances with her jazz/brazilian quartet with percussionist and drummer Chris Wells. The idea to write pieces which were very much like songs for the flute and which reflected her style of playing and improvising.
The music was especially composed for this project by Chris Wells and is a contemporary mix of Brazilian, funk and jazz with a chamber music feel. It features performances by leading guitarists Ife Tolentino and Mike Eaves as well as talented Lisbon resident bassist Gustavo Roriz .
Lucia is currently writing for her second album to be released next year. A collection of pieces for solo flute, flute and guitar and flute and harp.!
